Jr. Iditarod, & Chisto Fun Days, 6 dog limited class races

Hi everyone,

6:30 am minus 21. We've been up since 6 preparing to leave for day 2 in the Chisto Fun Days sprint races. John is chopping fish and I'm sneaking on the laptop real quick to give a little update. Yesterday around 7:00am we decided last minute to pack up two 6-dog teams and head out for a fun 2 day sprint race. I'm glad we went after all, we didn't do too shabby. I moved up from 11th to 8th and John is currently in 6th. There's 12 mushers total. There's three women from last weekend's WWC participating. We had just ran a 30 miler on Friday..so to turn back and run a sprint race (6 miles) wasn't in the plan..but the dogs seem okay with it, loping comfortably at close to 20mph speeds.

The dogs in this sprint race
Zoya's team---> Wilbur, Pitch, Probe, Trapper, Chuckie and Hunter.
John's team---> Sebe, Robin, Naknek, Tokyo, North and Marlin. Marlins' first race!

I've been watching the Jr. Iditarod from the laptop every chance I get. I'm rooting for Ellen King--this a a neat neat kid & she's doing just great. Jr. Iditarod has accurate updates available on their website. Good luck to all the 2006 Jr. Iditarod mushers this year...

We're looking to make a Maclaren run on Monday afternoon with a return trip Tuesday morning. I've got 22 dogs in training for two Percy teams this year. The Percy 200 is a 9 dog class. See you soon,
