on the trails with shelter dogs, our own dogs, all dogs..

What are those Crazy dogs doing Now? " Tokyo"
35 dogs in long distance training for the "main team" pick.
Zoya will choose the 12 fastest, strongest dogs for the Sheep Mountain 150,
December 16-17th 2006
www.sheepmountainlodge.com for musher list and more info.
For the Iditarod, Zoya will have to choose the best 16 suited for 1, 049 miles.
Dogs on that Pick List: dogs highlighted purple are all rescues either from the Fairbanks Animal Shelter or other yards. We've bred some of these rescue dogs and now have some of our own from them
(Robin, Galen, Motta, Blight, Stroey, Peak, Naked, Naknak, Sebe and Fish)
Wilbur, Pitch, Henry, Sadie, Zither, Trapper, JayJ, Cookie, Tokyo, Zoya, Chuckie, Probe, Hicks, North, Harley, Bridle, Donald, Bligh, Robin, Galen, Hunter, Sebe, Motta, Naknak, Fishhead, Naked, Peak, Storey, Marlin, Dude, Streak, Yoyo,Gus, little Jeffy and Penny.
We have another group of dogs running shorter distances; the young pups and old retired vets. The dogs in training for these major races have been training on the ATV and Sled since Aug.
These dogs are running 30's and longer on the sled, and a few select teams are running back to back 40's with a set amount of rest breaks inbetween each run.
We're happy to see no training injuries or soreness thus far this season.
The days are getting shorter and nights cooler. Lastnight, we were down to minus- 25F.
Our November Newsletter is getting underway; if you're not signed up and want to receive it by email or snail mail, please email Zoya right away. The Kennel Newsletter shall be released by the 2nd week in November.
If you would like to sponsor one of these race dogs for a race event and or Iditarod 2007 , please email Zoya for more info.
Thanks for your support!
