grateful to have it all

we did the picnic thing this morning at Tangle Lakes. Jona discovered a cool rock and daddy sat her up on it. I didn't have the camera along today...the one time I completely spaced it out leaving it on the kitchen table, and what do we see on this nice drive down the Denali Highway? 2 moose .....2 moose traveling alongside our truck for three miles...a mother and last years calf. They were not interested in getting off the road due to the deep and crusty snow, so they traveled at a slow speed of somewhere between a walk and a trot. We took it all in, enjoying them, the morning and the road to Tangle. Three Trumpeter swans were returning overhead to Paxson lake as we made our way down to the water trudging bits of snow here and there. A gorgeous site! This time of year is really special. The changes happen fast, the longer days are nice giving us a sense that we can get more done, brand new life emerging from the dens and nests and the weather is pleasant and mild with so much sunshine. Basking in the sun is so easy to do between chores and tasks! life is good.

My other baby, Ethan. Ethan is being a good boss today giving us a little instruction as we spring clean around the house and cabin, build new dog houses, run dogs, play with baby, grill our lunch, enjoy our coffee while we make spring plans. Thank You, Ethan Buddy! How we doing down here, anyway?

The Alaska Range is stunning! The boy isn't so bad either.

Absolutely breath taking. A melting Paxson mnt. Still, a powerful sight.

My little angel! Jona is sitting up on her own, all by herself! I get goose bumps when I think about how much I love being this deliriously happy & healthy and how we're going to show this little girl, everything! There is nothing better than adding motherhood to the list and being this crazy -busy- happy- family that we are. OK, Sledding through the wilderness across Alaska with a team of sled dogs you love the most, is a real close second. Being a mother is amazing! A powerful surge of life that is so totally new and wonderful! Like running a marathon all day long! You don't know about these great things that open up before your eyes until it happens to you! You have no idea what it's all about to love from the bottom of the earth unconditionally until you have a child of your own! I thought our world was pretty damn blissful before, but with her in it, it's even sweeter! The bond between mom and baby is a beautiful gift and when you daddy in there, the world just gave you complete riches. I had no idea what I was missing until now! Now, we just celebrate MORE every day!

Our own pre Spring Break! Right here on our turf! Loving the good weather!
